5 Things I do daily!

If you are already one of my followers on IG, you are already aware of my LONG days! In my world no two days are the same, however I do try to maintain some consistency throughout my days to keep me grounded. Additionally I am also a very structured person, so without consistency I will likely lose my mind. Here are some of the things I do daily to keep me grounded.

Wake up and Smell the Routine

Hit the gym!

I am naturally an early riser, growing up I hated it but now as an adult I LOVE IT. Exercising in the morning is a non-negotiable for my well being so it’s the first thing I do each morning. My alarm clock goes off EVERY morning at 5:50 am, my goal is to be in the gym no later than 6:30. It sucks every single morning when I hear the damn screeching sounds from my phone, but I push through. In the summer its amazing because the sun is already out. :-)

Planner and Calendar

On my way home from the gym I start checking the emails and calendar to set my intentions for the day. I usually let my most important meeting or deliverable lead the flow of my day. I usually do this in the exact order it is listed here, GYM FIRST and then everything else. After emails I look at my happy planner to see the little details I need to remember. I LOVE HAPPY PLANNER!

Read an Article

Between all of my busy days and running around NYC, it can sometimes be challenging to sit still and just read! About 2 years ago I realized I went 6 months without picking up a book to read just because. I WAS ASHAMED! Since then I promised myself to seek knowledge EVERYDAY. So usually on my commute or during the day I spend about 30 mins reading articles and blog posts. It can literally be anything from an accounting article, social policy, a recent dissertation or School Work.

Meal Prep

I really wish I can be one of those people who preps 5 meals for the week, but sadly I’m NOT. Sometimes I will bulk cook some rice or protein for the week but I still have to go through the motions of packing it each day. I know it probably more time consuming to do it daily, but I like it. It gives me an easy accomplishment for the day. Also I hate having like 50 bowls laying around so that’s probably the real reason I do it daily.

Family

Make time to speak to the people who love me without all of my “hats” - No matter how busy or long my days may get, they always come first.
